
But, that's not discouraging Huawei. Richard Ren, the head of Huawei's consumer unit in Europe said on the matter:
We
will continue to develop devices running Windows Phone, and launch more
products. We remain one of Microsoft's strategic partners.
Unfortunately,
that's all the information we have right now. Huawei has done some
interesting things in the Android world, especially with its 6-inch
Ascend Mate. With the size limits about to disappear from Windows Phone,
and phablets on the way starting with Nokia's Lumia 1520, it Huawei
could make some cool devices given the chance.
China
has been a big market for Windows Phone (mostly because the Nokia Lumia
520 is a big seller), and Huawei (theoretically) can help to drive that
push. Huawei doesn't have much brand recognition in the U.S., but it
has had success in its homeland of China.
