nokia-launches-photobeamer-a-photo-sharing-app-for-windows-phone-8

Nokia believes there's an easier way to share a photo slideshow, and its new Photobeamer set-up does that with a mix of QR codes, smartphones, and internet-connected devices. PhotoBeamer is a new Windows Phone 8 app exclusive to the Nokia Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 that shares photos via a QR code. The app creates the code that users open on a computer browser and then scans the QR code using the phone's camera. Photos are then immediately transmitted and displayed on the screen.
Photobeamer seems easy enough, though I'm not quite sure I'd go along with Nokia's assertion that it's the fastest way to show off pictures. Regardless, it's an effective way to trigger a slideshow on a larger screen with access to a browser. Nokia's able to accomplish the task thanks to technology it picked up after it acquired Scalado in July. As the name implies, the app can beam photos to the screen quickly even on a 3G connection, so users will have little trouble sharing photos to display on a larger screen.
