Pre-paid carriers Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile both announced on Friday that they will be adding the Samsung Galaxy S5 to their respective lineups. Both carriers are owned by Sprint, which comes into play since the Galaxy S5 offered by both Boost and Virgin will support Sprint's tri-band LTE service known as Sprint Spark. This service uses circuitry in the phone to determine which of three LTE bands is more suited to your task, and provides faster data speeds and superior indoor penetration of signals.Both Boost and Virgin said that the just unveiled Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available to customers sometime in the second quarter. Pricing was not disclosed, although both pre-paid carriers said that they would offer the phone with contract-free, flexible plans.
Currently, Boost is offering the Samsung Galaxy S III for $349.99 while Virgin Mobile is offering the Samsung Galaxy S III for $262.49, which represents a 25% discount.
